The internationally renowned musicians Cristina Basili and Timotej Kosovinc will "transport" the audience of Kythnos to a dreamy world of classical and contemporary music with their cello and guitar, on July 27th at the Driopida Theatre in Kythnos. This musical event is co-organized for the third consecutive year on the island of Kythnos by the cultural initiative kythniale, the Municipality of Kythnos, and the Embassy of Austria in Athens, in the framework of Greek-Austrian friendship. kythniale, το Δήμο Κύθνου και την Πρεσβεία της Αυστρίας στην Αθήνα.

Cristina Basili, of Greek origin and currently residing in Austria, is a cellist known for her sensitivity and unique expressiveness. Despite her young age, she has participated in numerous recitals, festivals, and concerts in major halls across Europe and America, performing alongside renowned musicians and composers. Timotej Kosovinc, a Slovenian guitarist, composer, and lecturer at the Vienna School of Music, combines classical and contemporary music in his works, incorporating elements from folk music traditions. His goal is to make the language of music resonate with people of all nationalities. Awarded prizes in international guitar and composition competitions, he is a regular performer in distinguished concert halls across Europe and Canada.

Giorgis & Vangelis Bellis

At the concert, bridging the two peoples, the renowned musicians from Kythnos, Giorgis and Vangelis Bellis, will also participate. With their violin and lute, they leave a valuable legacy for the preservation and continuation of the island's cultural heritage.
